Junior Lisa McCloskey's 2-under 70 paced a solid day for the No. 2 USC women's golf team, which is now tied for second after day two of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate on Monday (Feb. 28) at the English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans, LA.
USC is 10-over 586 (297-289) and trails No. 1 Alabama (582) by four strokes. Day one leader and host Tulane fell back into a tie with USC while Texas A&M is fourth (588) and Duke is fifth (589).
McCloskey, who had four birdies against one bogey, moved into a tie for sixth at 1-under 143 (73-70) while freshman Sophia Popov is tied for 15th at 2-over 146 (74-72). Popov cancelled out four bogeys with four birdies in her round.
Junior Lizette Salas is tied for 25th at 4-over 148 (74-74) while junior Inah Park (77-73), who eagled the par-5 15th hole, and sophomore Cyna Rodriguez (76-74) are tied for 39th at 6-over 150.
