Former Trojan All-Americans Dewi Claire Schreefel and Candie Kung tied for 11th and 14th, respectively, at the 2011 RICOH Women's British Open that finished Sunday (July 31) at the Carnoustie Golf Links in Carnoustie, Angus, Scotland.
Schreefel, a former individual NCAA champion who helped USC win the 2008 NCAA team title, was within three shots of the lead after two rounds and finished at 7-under 281, nine strokes out of first. She earned $52,815 for her finish, by far the biggest paycheck of her young career.
Kung finished at 5-under. She barely made the cut at 175 and finished with a pair of 69s to move up the leader board and into the top 15 to earn $35,132.
Trojan sophomore-to-be Sophia Popov made the cut, also at 175, and finished 67th overall.
Former Trojan All-Americans Jennifer Song and Belen Mozo also competed but neither made the cut.
