McCloskey, Popov Tie For Eighth At Fall Preview

Sophomore Sophia Popov and senior Lisa McCloskey tied for eighth to pace No. 2 USC during the final round of the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview on Sunday (Sept. 25) at the Vanderbilt Legends Course in Nashville, Tenn.
The Trojans, who led by a stroke after the first round and were in seventh after the second round, finished eighth at 24-over 888 (292-300-296), 15 strokes back of winner UCLA (873). Alabama took second (879) with Arizona State and Virginia tied for third (884).
Popov (72-72-74) and McCloskey (73-73-72) each finished at 2-over 212, six shots out of first. Popov opened her round with two birdies through her first three holes but finished 4-over the rest of the round. McCloskey registered Troy's top round of the day with pars on both the front and back nine.
Sophomore Rachel Morris tied for 52nd at 13-over 229 (80-75-74). She was 2-under through nine holes before a pair of double bogeys on 10 and 11. She was even the rest of the way.
Freshman Kristen Park tied for 57th at 14-over 230 (73-81-76) while senior Inah Park tied for 62nd at 15-over 231 (74-80-77).
