Lisa McCloskey, is in second place after 36 holes of the 2nd Annual Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Monday (April 16) at the Half Moon Bay (Calif.) G.C.
The Trojans finished the first two rounds at a combined 1-over 577 (290-287). UCLA is in first at 13-under 563 while San Jose State is third at 8-over 584. Troy is after its second win of the season and the fourth top 3 in the past five events.
McCloskey is tied for second at 3¬-under 141 (71-70), five strokes off the lead. She was 1-under in her first round with three birdies and followed it with a 2-under second round with birdies on 4 and 12 and pars the rest of the way. She is seeking her team-best sixth top 10 finish this year.
Senior Inah Park is tied for 16th at 3-over (72-75). She matched two birdies with two bogeys in the first round and was 3-under through eight holes in the second round before finishing 6-over the rest of the way.
Sophomore Rachel Morris is tied for 25th at 4-over 148 (75-73) with five birdies over two rounds. Sophomore Sophia Popov is tied for 29th at 5-over 149 (80-69). After an uncharacteristic 8-over first round, she rebounded with a 3-under effort with four birdies. Freshman Doris Chen rounded out USC's efforts, tied for 39th at 6-over 150 (72-78).
Play resumes Tuesday at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
