MATCH NOTES
- With its 3-2 victory over California, USC extended its season-long winning streak to eight matches.
- The Trojans played in and won their first five-set match of the season. They were 3-0 in five-set matches in 2012.
- It was the sixth time in eight meetings at the Galen Center that USC and Cal have gone five sets in a match. The Trojans have won all eight of those matches.
- USC improved to 51-11 in all-time meetings against California. It is the Trojans' fifth straight win over the Golden Bears as they improve to 27-2 in all-time home matches with Cal.
- USC won its 15th consecutive home match dating back to Oct. 5, 2012, and improved to 99-10 (.908) in all-time matches at the Galen Center.
- With a 4-0 record, the Trojans are off to their best start in league matches since 2006 when they went 6-0.
- USC has posted a higher hitting percentage than its opponent in all 15 of this season's matches.
- The Trojans out-blocked their opponent for the 11th time, this season. USC has only posted fewer blocks than an opponent twice, this year.
- USC's win is the 1,198th in Trojan head coach Mick Haley's overall career including a 97-32 mark as the men's head coach at Kellogg Community College.
- Senior OH Sara Shaw put up her second straight double-double; her third of the season and the 11th of her career with a season-high 13 kills and 12 digs.
- Senior libero Natalie Hagglund led the team with 28 digs and enjoyed her 13th match in double digits for digs, this season.
- Sophomore OH Samantha Bricio matched her season high with 16 kills and strung together her third straight with match with double-digit kills to become the first Trojan to do that, this season. Bricio also logged 10 digs to notch her second double-double of the year; the 13th of her career.
- Freshman OH Ebony Nwanebu led the Trojans in kills for the second straight match (seventh time this year) as she set a new career high with 21 kills. Nwanebu also set a new career best with 23.5 points. She has led Troy in scoring in four matches, this season.
- Senior MB Alexis Olgard recorded new career highs in kills (15) and points (19.5).
