MATCH NOTES

USC wins its fourth straight season opener and improves to 12-2 in openers under head coach Mick Haley. The program improves to 33-6 in all season openers and 11-3 when the opener is on the road.
The Trojans win their first meeting with Rider.
USC reached double digits in service aces (10) for the first time since it had 15 in a match against Alabama A&M on Aug. 31, 2013, in West Lafayette, Ind.
Junior OH Samantha Bricio put up five service aces in a single match for the eighth time in her career. It is also the 18th time that she has had at least three aces in the same match.
Bricio pushed her career service aces total to 133 which is only three shy of fourth place on USC's all-time ladder behind Janice Johnson's 136 (1982-85).
All five of USC's freshmen appeared in the match including OH Lauryn Gillis who got the first start of her collegiate career.
