Trojans Spread Out Across the Nation to Play Summer Ball

LOS ANGELES - Head coach Dan Hubbs and staff sends 14 Trojans across the nation to play summer ball, from Alaska to Cape Cod.
Four Trojans will play in the prestigious Cape Cod League, highlighted by catcher/first baseman Jeremy Martinez (Fountain Valley, Calif./Mater Dei HS) who will suit up for the Orleans Firebirds. He is joined by shortstop Reggie Southall (Inglewood, Calif./Serra HS) in Orleans. Pitchers Bernardo Flores (Baldwin Park, Calif./Baldwin Park HS) and Jeff Paschke (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara HS) will also hone their craft in the Cape, playing for the Cotuit Kettleers and the Chatham Anglers, respectively.
Rising sophomore infielder Adalberto Carrillo (Santa Ana, Calif./Tustin HS), who arguably hit the biggest home run of the season, a solo walk-off shot in the bottom of the ninth over reigning national champion Vanderbilt, will head to Anchorage, Alaska to suit up for the Glacier Pilots.
Four Trojans also head out to the East Coast, but will play in the New England Collegiate League. Three Trojans will remain teammates, as Mason Perryman (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield HS), Andrew Wright (San Diego, Calif./Cathedral Catholic HS) and AJ Ramirez (Phoenix, Ariz./Bakersfield Christian HS) will all suit up for Ocean State Waves in Rhode Island. This is the second straight season for Ramirez. Rising sophomore pitcher Brad Wegman (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak HS) will also play in New England as he is set to suit up for the Newport Gulls.
Outfielder Corey Dempster (South Pasadena, Calif./Loyola HS), infielder Angelo Armenta (Monrovia, Calif./Loyola HS) and utility David Edson (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran HS) will head to the Northwoods League in the upper Midwest. Dempster and Armenta will play for the Kalamazoo Growlers, while Edson will play for the Lakeshore Chinooks.
Infielder Joe Corrigan (Santa Monica, Calif./Harvard Westlake HS) will return to his summer ball location from last season, playing for the Santa Paula Halos.
Rising sophomore infielder Stephen Dubb (Pasadena, Calif./Loyola HS) will play for the OC Riptides of the Orange County Collegiate League, while redshirt freshman Jack Poulsen (Pasadena, Calif./Loyola HS) will play for the Redding Colt 45s.
