Forget Falls In ITA Regional Singles Final

MALIBU, CALIF. — No. 4 seeded Trojan Thibault Forget went up against the tournament's No. 2 seed in today's singles title match at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships in Malibu. The fourth straight year with a Trojan in the singles final, this one didn't go Forget's way as his six-match singles win streak came to a close today.

Fresh off a solid semifinal upset of the top seed yesterday, #85 Forget was up against another Bruin today in the championship match. No. 2 seeded and #38-ranked Gage Brymer had topped Forget's Trojan teammate Logan Smith in the semis, and the Bruin remained tough again today. Brymer fended off Forget with a win in the second set tiebreaker to finish off a 6-1, 7-6 (3) victory to take the singles crown.
