USC Women’s Basketball 2017-18 Schedule Released
October 02, 2017 | Women's Basketball, Features
Trojans have 13 televised regular-season games on the docket this season.
The Pac-12 has finalized the women's basketball conference schedule and identified the games to be televised this 2017-18 season, with the Women of Troy locked in for 13 televised tilts during the regular season. USC women's basketball hosts three nonconference games at Galen Center before turning to Pac-12 play at the close of the calendar year.
Under the direction of head coach Mark Trakh this season, the USC women's basketball team opens its nonconference slate with a home doubleheader with the USC men on Nov. 10 at Galen Center. USC's three home nonconference games all feature teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last year, highlighted by a televised Dec. 15 clash against Texas A&M. USC will skip town for two out-of-state events during the nonconference stretch, competing at the Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Honolulu Nov. 24-26 and making the journey to Edinburg, Texas, for action at the Battle on the Border, hosted by UT Rio Grande Valley, Dec. 19-20.
After the holiday break, USC kicks off Pac-12 play with a Bay Area visit at the end of December before returning to Galen Center for the Trojans' first home Pac-12 action against the Oregon schools. In all, the Pac-12 had seven teams in last year's NCAA Tournament. The Women of Troy are looking to break back into the postseason scene this season, having made its last NCAA appearance in 2014 after winning the Pac-12 Tournament Championship.
The 2018 Pac-12 Tournament returns to KeyArena in Seattle, Wash., running March 1-4 with all games to be televised.
The USC women have welcomed head coach Trakh back to Troy for his second stint at the helm. Trakh coached the Trojans to back-to-back NCAA appearances in 2005 and 2006 before departing the program in 2009. He helped lead New Mexico State to three straight NCAA appearances prior to returning to USC to begin his sixth season as a Trojan head coach.
