Coach Andrea Gaston Given Cancer-Free Diagnosis

Trojan mainstay now resting after recent surgery, excited to return to full strength soon.
USC Women's Golf Head Coach Andrea Gaston, diagnosed with uterine cancer earlier this year, underwent surgery in late May and this week was given a cancer-free diagnosis by her doctors.
Gaston, who has led USC to three national titles and an active streak of 12 straight top 5 national finishes, including a tie for third this season, is resting comfortably and will undergo preventative radiation treatments later this summer.
The always-on-the-go Gaston is now under doctors orders to rest and regain her strength.
"I have been completely overwhelmed and inspired by all the texts, emails, cards and flowers that I have received in the past few weeks," Gaston said. "This has all been so encouraging to me, and I am extremely grateful to everyone for their prayers, love and support.
"My doctor knows how I operate, but she wants me to rest for the next few weeks to completely heal. She told me not to try to be Wonder Woman, so I'm following her advice. I can't wait to return to full strength."
