November 27, 2018 | Women's Soccer, Features
LOS ANGELES – USC women's soccer standout senior Ally Prisock was named a semifinalist for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy, the United Soccer Coaches announced this week.
Prisock is one of 15 players on the women's side to be named a semifinalist for the award, which is given to the top player in NCAA Division I soccer each year. She is the fourth player in program history to be named a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and the second in three years after Morgan Andrews was a finalist for the award in 2016.
Semifinalists are chosen through voting by Division I coaches around the country. The three finalists for the award will be announced on Dec. 7 and the winner will be honored on Jan. 4 at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
Prisock wrapped up an all-time great career for the Trojans in 2018, finishing as the program's record holder with 90 career starts. She was a two-time All Pac-12 first-teamer (2017, 2018) and helped lead the Trojans to a National Title in 2016. USC made the NCAA Tournament all four years during her tenure, with Prisock also earning Top Drawer Soccer Best XI honors in 2017, and being named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list each of the last two years.
In addition to starting every game since coming to USC in 2015, Prisock has been a key member of a Trojan backline that has posted the best four-year goals-against average in program history at 0.61. She has helped the Trojans to a total of 50 shutouts during her tenure and has also scored one goal and posted three assists.
This season she led a Trojan defense that notched 15 shutouts, the second most in program history, and a 0.48 goals against average, also second best for a Trojan team. Prisock scored once and had one assist, helping USC to an appearance in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
