Miller and Gilbert Tabbed for ILWomen Preseason Honors

The Women of Troy will open the 2019 season at home against Hofstra on February 9
BALTIMORE – USC All-American junior midfielder Kerrigan Miller (Bayport, N.Y.) was named to the Inside Lacrosse (ILWomen) Women's Division I Preseason Media All-America third team on Tuesday, Dec. 18. Senior defender Jackie Gilbert (Pleasanton, Calif.) received preseason All-America honorable mention status.
Inside Lacrosse selects and announces the preseason media All-Americans as part of its Face-Off Yearbook publication, which can be purchased at www.insidelacrosse.com. The Women of Troy were ranked No. 21 in the publication's preseason media poll.
Miller was recently named to the 26-player U.S. senior national team roster that will compete in the Spring Premiere at Stanford University (Jan. 25-27). Last season, she was chosen as the Pac-12's Midfielder of the Year and earned IWLCA third-team All-America honors. Miller was the MPSF's Rookie of the Year in 2017 and was USC's leading scorer last season (36g, 13a).
Gilbert will serve as one of USC's co-captains this spring and was the Trojans' leader in the draw circle as a junior (86dc). Gilbert started every game in 2018 and completed the year with 25 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers.
USC finished the 2018 season with a 10-8 overall record and advanced to the semifinals of the inaugural Pac-12 tournament where it fell to champion Stanford in a narrow 15-14 defeat. The Women of Troy were 6-4 to finish third in the league's regular-season standings. Head coach Lindsey Munday improved to 79-38 (.675) through her sixth completed season.
