Five USC Teams Receive NCAA Public Recognition Awards
May 16, 2018 | Men's Volleyball, Track & Field, Women's Cross Country, Women's Golf, Women's Beach Volleyball
The USC men's track, men's volleyball, women's golf, women's beach volleyball and women's cross country teams have been honored by the NCAA as recipients of Public Recognition Awards for their outstanding performance in the classroom.
Â
Public Recognition Awards are based upon teams' commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes by achieving multiyear Academic Progress Rates (APR) within the top 10 percent nationally in their respective sports.
Â
A team's APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation to generate a measure of academic performance. Each semester, the APR creates a snapshot of a team's academic success as it tracks the progress of each student-athlete on scholarship.
Â
The most recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from the 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years.
