Three-time All-American won Shoprite Classic by one stroke.
USC great Annie Park, a three-time All-American who led Troy to the 2013 NCAA team title, won her first LPGA title on Sunday (June 10), claiming the Shoprite Classic in Galloway, N.J., by one stroke.
Park, playing within a two-hour drive of her hometown in Long Island, won the event at 16-under 197 (69-65-63), using an 8-under final round to secure a $262,500 pay day and earning a spot on the LPGA Tour for the rest of the season.
Park, who turned pro in 2015 but had an injury plagued 2017, put together a flawless final round, pouring in six birdies and one eagle without a bogey. She got to 16-under on the 14th hole and made par on her final four holes and had to watch to see if her score would stand up.
She was four back when the round began but was able to make up the difference thanks to a series of long birdie putts. Her best LPGA result this season had been a tie for 18th at the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship.
Park holds USC's record for most career wins (six) as well as career stroke average (71.90) for golfers who played three or more seasons as a Trojan.
