Maud Megens Earns MPSF Player of the Week Honors

Junior cracked the 100-goal barrier in a powerful USC run at the UCSB Winter Invite.
USC's Maud Megens led USC in scoring with 14 goals as USC opened up 2019 with a 6-0 start at the UCSB Winter Invitational. Along the way, the junior scored her 100th career goal, and went on to add nine more at the event to climb to No. 27 all-time in career scoring at USC. She also secured herself the first MPSF Player of the Week selection of the 2019 season for her efforts.
Megens scored multiple goals in USC's first five games of the year, topping out with four in the season-opening 25-5 win over #24 Cal Baptist. She'd deliver a hat trick in a 19-4 win over Azusa Pacific and also led USC with three in a 9-2 victory over #9 Michigan. Two more goals came against Fresno State (19-3) and #15 UC San Diego (13-4) to help bump USC to 6-0 out of the gates in 2019.
This is the third career MPSF Player of the Week award for Megens, who earned it twice last season as a sophomore.
Megens and the Trojans next have a doubleheader on tap at the CBU Mini Invitational this Saturday (Jan. 26) with a 12:45 p.m. matchup against Concordia and a 2 p.m. clash with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
