The Women of Troy have won seven straight conference openers
TEMPE, Ariz. – The 22nd-ranked USC lacrosse team (5-1, 1-0 Pac-12) collected its seventh straight conference-opening victory on a 15-3 win over Arizona State (2-3, 0-1) at the Sun Devil Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium on Friday, March 8.

- Sophomore attacker Sophia Donovan registered one of two Trojan hat tricks. It was her second-career hat trick game.
- Freshman midfielder Katie Ramsay also collected her second-career hat trick and scored two of her goals from free position. Ramsay also had three draw controls and three ground balls.
- Junior midfielder Kerrigan Miller scored two goals, caused two turnovers, and had three draw controls and two ground balls.
- In her first-career game after sitting out two seasons due to injury, junior midfielder Kelly Johansen came off the bench to record two points with a goal and an assist.
- In goal, sophomore Riley Hertford posted nine saves and had a pair of ground balls.
- For Arizona State, Berkeley Bonneau put up 13 saves. Emily Glagolev, Kate Dougherty, and Carley Adams scored the Sun Devils' three goals. Kerri Clayton and Caryn Takeuchi had assists.
- The Trojans scored the first nine goals of the game and held ASU scoreless for the first 19:08 of the first half. Three of USC's goals came from free position including Ramsay's goal at 14:31 for the 9-0 lead.
- Glagolev scored the lone ASU first-half goal before Donovan one-timed a feed from Hope Anhut for a 10-1 USC halftime lead.
- USC slowed things down in the second half, but managed to claim running clock at 20:40 when Donovan completed her hat trick. USC led by 11 at 15:34 on Ramsay's third goal before the Trojans added goals from Johansen and Ashley Hill.
- The Trojans return home for a non-conference matchup with No. 24-ranked Virginia Tech (4-3) at McAlister Field. First draw is set for noon PT on Sunday (March 10). The game will be shown live on the Pac-12+ USC stream platform. The Trojans are 37-10 all-time on McAlister Field.
- USC improved to 4-0 all-time against Arizona State and to 2-0 all-time in the state of Arizona.
- The Trojans won their seventh consecutive conference opener. Last year, USC beat ASU, 14-3, at home to start Pac-12 play.
- At least two Women of Troy scored hat tricks in the same game for the third time this season.
- USC held its first opponent to single-digit goals this season to break a five-game run of 10-plus goals by opponents.
- The Trojans' plus-12 final margin was its largest of the season and the largest since a 12-goal win over ASU in the 2018 Pac-12 tournament semifinal (19-7) in Boulder, Colo.
