Chase Bushor Signs With Royals

LOS ANGELES – USC baseball senior standout Chase Bushor signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals this week.
Bushor, who inked his contract as a free agent with the Royals on June 22, becomes the seventh Trojan to sign a professional contract this offseason. USC draftees Matthew Acosta (Padres), Chris Clarke (Cubs), Connor Lunn (Cardinals), Austin Manning (Royals), Blake Sabol (Pirates) and CJ Stubbs (Astros) have all also signed with their respective teams.
Bushor batted .282 in his two seasons for the Trojans, earning All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2018 thanks to a .301 average, nine doubles, 20 runs scored and some stellar defense. He hit .264 this past season, but set career highs with 29 runs scored and 25 runs driven in. Bushor started a total of 95 games while in Troy, with most all coming at the shortstop spot.
Prior to his time with the Trojans, Bushor was a two-year starter at Georgetown where he batted .287 and was named Freshman of the Year.
