With Fresh Rankings, Trojans Set Up For Fall Action

Under the direction of head coach Brett Masi, the USC men's tennis team kicks off fall competition this week, dividing and conquering for two individual tournaments in two different states. Several Trojans will also pack up fresh national rankings for their journeys, with four players ranked in singles and one ranked doubles duo in the ITA's preseason rankings. Senior Brandon Holt leads the pack at No. 5 in the nation in singles, with junior Daniel Cukierman also solidly in the top-10 with a No. 8 singles ranking. Sophomores Bradley Frye (No. 58) and Jake Sands (No. 88) also are enjoying singles rankings as the fall unfurls. Frye also is teamed up at No. 28 with senior Riley Smith in the doubles rankings.

For the latest installment of the Battle in the Bay Classic, four Trojans are slated to compete at the event in San Francisco. Seniors Brandon Holt and Riley Smith are back at the Battle with two newcomers alongside them. Freshmen Stefan Dostanic and Ryder Jackson will make their collegiate debuts out in San Francisco. Last year, Holt reached the singles semifinals. He and Smith reached the doubles final together as freshmen in 2016. The Battle in the Bay Classic runs Sept. 20-22.

Meanwhile, in Milwaukee, a trio of Trojans will be engaged in action at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Sophomores Mor Bulis, Bradley Frye and Jake Sands open their second seasons as Trojans with a trip to Wisconsin. Action in Milwaukee runs Sept. 19-23.
