Senior Allisen Corpuz and junior Jennifer Chang each posted 1-under 71s while senior Aiko Leong topped the team with a career-best tie for sixth to lead No. 1 USC on the final day of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate on Wednesday (Sept. 18) at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
USC looked to make a move from second to first today but fell short, ultimately finishing fifth at 3-over 867 (291-279-297). Wake Forest won the tournament at 17-under 847 and was the only school under par today.
Leong tied for sixth at 3-under 213 (74-66-73) for her top finish as a Trojan. She opened play with an eagle on 1, turned at 1-under before finishing the round 1-over.
Chang joined Leong in the top 10 with a tie for eighth at 2-under 214 (73-70-71). She was 2-over through 8 holes before birdies on 9 and 10 en route to a 1-under finish. Dating back to last season, it is her fifth top 8 finish in her last six starts.
Corpuz worked her way into a top 20 finish, tying for 19th at 3-over 219 (75-73-71). She birdied nine today to turn at 1-under, posting a bogey on 14 and a birdie on 15 coming home.
Junior Alyaa Abdulghany tied for 29th at 5-over 221 (70-70-81) while junior Gabriela Ruffels was 48th at 13-over 229 (74-73-82).
