Sherwood Collegiate Cup Serves As Spring Opener For Trojans

Seven Trojans are in action at the event in Thousand Oaks from Jan. 17-20.
Top-ranked Daniel Cukierman leads a field of seven Trojans in the first collegiate competition of the spring as USC's reps dig into action at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup starting today (Jan. 17) and running through Jan. 20 in Thousand Oaks, Calif. USC is joined at the event by athletes from Stanford, Texas A&M and UCLA.
Rightly so, #1 Cukierman has the top seed in the singles draw, while #9 Mor Bulis is slated as the No. 4 seed. Four other Trojans are locked into the singles scene, with #37 freshman Stefan Dostanic seeded No. 8. The rest of USC's Sherwood singles participants are #64 Ryder Jackson, #84 Jake Sands and Bradley Frye. On the doubles side, Riley Smith checks in for duty alongside Cukierman as the top seeded pair in that draw. Also teamed up for the Trojans are Bulis and Jackson, as well as Dostanic and Frye. Doubles play is slated to start up on Saturday (Jan. 18), while singles action is already underway.
