No. 2 USC Beach Volleyball Gets 5-0 Win Over Washington

The Women of Troy collected their 11th 5-0 sweep of the season in a victory over the Huskies
PHOENIX – The No. 2-ranked USC beach volleyball team (16-2) took down Washington (1-4) for a 5-0 result at GCU Beach Volleyball Stadium in the Trojans' second dual at the Pac-12 North Invitational on Saturday, April 10.

The Trojans' comets scored the first dual point when senior Haley Hallgren and graduate Hailey Harward scored a 21-11, 21-11 win over Avie Niece and Hannah Yerex at the third position. USC went up, 2-0, when it got a win at the top court on a 21-11, 21-12 victory by junior All-American Tina Graudina and freshman Megan Kraft over Chloe Loreen and Shayne McPherson.

The spotlight shone on court five this afternoon as sophomore twins Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse notched their 26th straight match victory on a 21-9, 21-15 win over Cassidy Schilling and Callie Weber to clinch the dual. The incredible streak ranks third all-time in program history and behind only streaks of 103 wins (Kelly Claes/Sara Hughes; 2015-17) and 28 wins (Kirby Burnham/Sara Hughes; 2014). The twin sisters are still undefeated this season (18-0) and have racked up 27 wins as a pair, which ranks 17th all-time at USC.

USC added its fourth point of the day with a win at the No. 4 position where graduate Joy Dennis and freshman Delaynie Maple got a 21-10, 21-12 win over Kyra Petersen and Ashley Shook. The sweep went into the books on a 21-10, 21-11 win by graduate Julia Scoles and senior Sammy Slater at court two where the Trojans defeated Scarlett Dahl and Natalie Robinson, 21-10, 21-11.

The Women of Troy wrap up play at the Pac-12 North Invitational with duals against No. 7 Stanford (14-4) and host Arizona State (4-8) on Sunday (April 11). The Trojans and the Cardinal meet at 11:30 a.m. PT and the USC-ASU dual is set for a 4:30 p.m. start.
