- USC outshot SDSU, 43-27, and dominated the center circle, 25-4, but couldn't hold off the Aztec comeback bid as San Diego State scored seven of the last eight goals to claim the win.
- SDSU was 4-for-4 from free position in the second half and scored a total of six goals from the line. Despite the Aztecs' furious comeback, Trojan goalie Riley Hertford came up with two big saves to end regulation and gave USC three last looks at goal. Sharretts turned away the Trojans on two of the three shots to send the game into overtime.
- McDaniel won the overtime draw but USC's last shot was met by Sharrett's stick. The Aztecs transitioned successfully and whittled down the clock to get a shot with eight seconds left in the first half. Brown's shot found its way past Hertford to become the difference in the game.
- USC concludes its home regular-season schedule when the Bay Area schools visit next weekend. California comes to McAlister Field for a Friday (April 16) meeting at noon PT. Then the 15th-ranked Cardinal takes the field on Sunday (April 18) for a 1 p.m. start. Both games will be streamed live.
