No. 17 USC Women’s Tennis Conquers Saint Mary’s, 4-2

The USC women's tennis team secured their third win of the weekend with their 4-2 victory over Saint Mary's on Sunday (Jan. 23) at Marks Stadium. The No. 17 ranked Trojans are now 3-0 on the season.
USC made the first move of the match as Ewing/Han defeated Saint Mary's Kozyreva/Massey 6-1 on court one. In true fight on fashion, the Trojans prevailed as Piper/Koenig beat Saint Mary's Harris/Ronny 7-6 (4) to claim the doubles point.
USC entered singles with a 1-0 advantage. USC redshirt sophomore Snow Han beat Saint Mary's Jordan Harris 6-2, 6-3 on court two to add another point to the board for the Trojans. On court five, Trojan freshman Grace Piper defeated Jocelyn Massey 6-1, 7-5 to extend USC's lead to 3-0.
Saint Mary's made-up ground with Mariia Kozyreva beating Trojan No. 12 Salma Ewing 7-6 (5), 6-1 on court one. The Gaels kept the momentum going, with Julia Ronney def. Leyden Games 6-3, 7-5 on the third court.
The match result came down to the decision on court six. After splitting the first two sets, USC's Mckenna Koenig took the third set over Saint Mary's Gabriela Tevez to win 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 to clinch the match for the Trojans.
Next up, the Women of Troy travel to Texas for ITA Kickoff Weekend , facing Miami on Friday (Jan. 28) at 9 a.m. PT.
