- USC's inability to make its mark in the main circle early on, significantly impacted the game as the Eagles dominated in draw controls 6-1 in their high-scoring first quarter (5-1). After the Women of Troy slipped into a 5-1 hole to start the game, they kept spiraling as fouls allowed the Eagles to get multiple opportunities in the offensive end (USC led the foul count 22-10).
- BC out-shot USC, 35-18, and the Women of Troy only held a slight edge in saves 10-8. The Eagles would have a slight advantage in turnovers as they caused 13 of USC's 21, and the Women of Troy forced eight of BC's 16 turnovers.
- USC only managed one goal in the first half, as Shelby Tilton scored with :15 seconds left in the first quarter. The Women of Troy would end a drought of 27:45, as they would score again when Christina Gagnon claimed her first career goal with 2:30 left in the third quarter. During that drought, the Eagles claimed three, and in a scoreless fourth quarter by USC, BC netted four to grow their lead significantly.
