USC Puts Two Doubles Squads in the Round of 16 at the Pac Coast Doubles Championship

Samuel Rubell and Niroop Vallabhaneni improve to 6-2 overall in the 2023-24 season
LA JOLLA, Calif. - USC's Samuel Rubell and Niroop Vallabhaneni reach the round of 16 at the Pac Coast Doubles Team Championship from Friday, Mar. 1 through Saturday, Mar. 2, in La Jolla, Calif.
During the span of the tournament, Rubell and Vallabhaneni were the only affiliated members to compete under the USC belt, as the other squads competed independently. While everyone competed differently, the duo that won the SoCal Intercollegiate tournament in the fall season was the most successful, as they fell just before the quarterfinals. The only other USC-related squad to reach that stage was the team of assistant coaches Eric Johnson and Bryce Pereira.
Rubell and Vallabahaneni picked up two wins, as they won in two sets in both of their first two matchups.
The Trojans return to action against Pepperdine at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 7 at Marks Tennis Stadium.
