The Women of Troy get their 13th and 14th sweeps of the season
BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 1-ranked USC beach volleyball team (20-2) earned 5-0 sweeps over fourth-ranked TCU (18-3) and No. 17 Florida Atlantic (12-9) in the Death Volley Invitational at Beach Volleyball Stadium on Friday, March 29. The two victories extended the Women of Troy to a 16-dual win streak, which stands alone as the fifth longest run in program history.

The Trojans improved to 8-1 all-time against the Horned Frogs and moved to 7-0 over the Owls. In 5-0 results, USC goes to 152-2 all-time and collected its 13th and 14th sweeps of the season. In its first trip into the Pelican State, USC upped its record in Louisiana to 2-0. The Trojans also improved to 146-16 in duals when ranked No. 1 in the AVCA coaches' poll.

At the top court, All-American seniors Megan Kraft and Delaynie Maple won their 15th and 16th straight matches to improve to 21-1 on the season with wins over Hailey Hamlett and Anhelina Khmil (21-14, 21-23, 15-13) of TCU and Courtney Moon and Marketa Svolzilova (21-11, 21-13) of FAU. The wins push Kraft-Maple to 49-4 all-time and just one win from becoming the eighth USC duo ever to win 50 matches.

Graduates Maddi Kriz and Grace Seits collected a pair of straight set wins at the No. 2 position, beating Sutton MacTavish and Anete Namike (21-15, 21-17) of TCU and Reese Edwards and Sloane Woolwine (21-15, 21-12) of Florida Atlantic. The grad duo extended its win streak to 14 matches to improve to 17-1 overall.

Twin graduates Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse won in straight sets at court three against TCU and went three sets to get a win over FAU. They improve to 17-4 on the season and to 108-20 all-time with wins over Luana Araco and Hallie Frist (21-16, 21-14) of TCU and Ashleigh Adams and Julie Honzovicova (22-20, 18-21, 15-10) of FAU.

Freshman Ashley Pater sophomore Madison White paired to improve go 8-0 overall with a three-set victory over Tara Patton and Ana Vergara (19-21, 21-19, 15-6) of TCU, and a straight-set win over Logan Mignerey and Alivia Orvieto (25-23, 21-11) of FAU.

At the No. 5 position, graduate Ainsley Radell and sophomore Mabyn Thomas paired to get a win against the Horned Frogs, over Olivia Clines and Morgan Williams (18-21, 21-15, 17-15). Thomas then teamed with graduate Molly Phillips at the No. 5 position to beat the Owls in straight sets (21-17, 21-17). In exhibition matches, sophomore Gabby Walker paired with freshman Madison Goellner to split sets with TCU; and take a win with senior Olivia Bakos over the Owls.

The Women of Troy will continue play at the Death Volley Invitational against 10th-ranked host LSU and No. 5 Florida State on Saturday, March 30. The Trojans and the Tigers meet at 11:45 a.m. CT (9:45 a.m. PT) and then meet the Seminoles at 3:15 p.m. (12:15 p.m. PT). Matches will be carried live by VBTV.
