USC Lacrosse Seniors Show Out In Home Finale

The Trojans (11-4, 5-1 Pac-12) outshine the Buffs (10-5, 4-2 Pac-12) on Senior Day 15-6
LOS ANGELES – No. 22-ranked USC lacrosse (11-4, 5-1 Pac-12) seared the Buffaloes (10-5, 4-2 Pac-12) 15-6 on senior day on Sunday, Apr. 21 at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.

KEY PLAYERS:
- Head coach Lindsey Munday picked up her 150th career win.
- Senior Claudia Shevitz had a game-high four goals and Ella Heaney posted a new career-high with six assists.
- Sophomore Haley Newton had her first goal of the season and freshman Lily Bunting each here first career goal during today's game.
- Defensively the Trojans dominated, as they only allowed six goals against the Buffaloes. USC was led by junior Alexis Niblock, who had five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
- USC forced ten caused turnovers, as Niblock and junior Catherine Lord led with two caused turnovers each.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter saw a strong start for the Women of Troy. The Trojans posted the first difference on the board with a goal by Maddie Dora in minute six of the first quarter. Maggie Brown and Shelby Tilton also put up goals in the first. USC out-shot Colorado 9-4. Defensively the Women of Troy had four caused turnovers and six ground balls. USC was up 3-2 going into the second.
- Keeping up their momentum well in the second, USC began to pull away from the Buffaloes. The Women of Tory saw the back of the net four times by four different players: Lily Bunting, Shelby Tilton, Isabelle Vitale, and Claudia Shevitz. USC had five caused turnovers and picked up six ground balls. The Trojans had a solid lead entering the half 7-4.
- USC continued their successful trajectory today in the third quarter, bringing in four goals. Kailey Pelkey and Brown each had a goal this quarter and Shevitz brought in two. The Women of Troy picked up four ground balls and had two caused turnovers and only allowed one goal. USC was up 11-5 going into the final quarter.
- In the final quarter of today's game, the Trojans dominated both offensively and defensively. Haley Newton, Shevitz, Murphy, and Heaney each had a goal. USC grabbed six ground balls and six caused turnovers, and once again only allowed one goal. The Women of Troy ended the game at 15-6.

- USC is now 7-3 all-time in the Coliseum and 5-2 in home games for the 2024 season.
- USC Lacrosse now leads 14-5 all-time against Colorado.
- Lindsey Munday picked up her 150th career win today against the Buffs.
- Isabelle Vitale collected her 200th career point after posting four assists and one goal.
- Ella Heaney posted a new career-high for assists as she posted six. Heaney also had one goal to tie her career high in points at seven.
