USC Men's Tennis Heads to Ojai for Pac-12 Championship Tournament

Trojans face top-20 opponent Arizona to kick off the Pac-12 Championships in Ojai, Calif.
LOS ANGELES- No. 7-seeded USC men's tennis (7-15, 2-5) faces No. 2-seeded (#11) Arizona (21-3, 7-1) in its first Pac-12 Championship Tournament dual, at 3 p.m.at Libbey Park in Ojai, Calif.. The Trojans search for redemption after being swept at home by the Wildcats back in March.Â
RANKINGSÂ
The Trojans enter this weekend as the No. 53rd ranked team in the country (ITA Rankings, Apr. 23). USC currently hosts one-ranked individuals (Apr. 23) with junior Peter Makk at the 76th spot.
USC currently has one ranked doubles squad, #59 Peter Makk and Lodewijk Weststrate.

The Trojans swept unranked Utah at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City on Sunday, April 21.Â
USC claimed the doubles point with a new unit on court No. 1 in Peter Makk and Oscar Weightman. The junior and sophomore duo clinched with a 6-4 victory following a 6-4 win at court No. 2 from the seasoned doubles squad of Karl Lee and Samuel Rubell.Â
In the singles lineup, Lodewijk Weststrate clinched the winning point for the Trojans on court No. 3, marking his fifth consecutive win and being 5-1 against Pac-12 opponents.Â

The Trojans have won the past four Pac-12 tournament titles (2019-2023) and five of the last six. USC has won seven tournament titles since the conference started the Pac-12 team tournament in 2012.Â
