LOS ANGELES β The USC Trojan Athletic Senate (TAS), made up of representatives from all USC athleticsΒ teams, elected the new executive board for the 2025-26 school year. The 10-person board represents six sports with men's and women's swim and dive teams represented as co-presidents.Β
As the student-athlete governing body, TAS works to amplify the student voice and work with peers, coaches and staff to improve the student-athlete experience. For many student-athletes, joining TAS provides the opportunity to make an impact beyond competition and connect with peers across the athletic department.
Reese Garland, a member of the track and field team, will be the Communications Co-Chair as she enters her first year in TAS.
"I've heard very positive things about the committee itself, and I am excited to get involved with other student-athletes," Garland said. "As a junior, I thought it was about time to get myself involved. I saw this as a great opportunity to network with others while also utilizing my strengths as a communications minor."
Fellow track and field student-athlete Madison Whyte returns for her second year in TAS and was recently appointed as USC's Big Ten representative, serving as a voice for student-athletes across the conference. She will serve as secretary on the TAS executive board.
"I think it is so exciting to come together with other teams and have a common goal and to make a change," Whyte said.
Jan Bialecki, a member of the swim and dive team, joins the board after previously serving as president of the Student-Athlete Council at Fresno Pacific University. He is the newest Community and Culture Co-Chair.
"TAS has a lot to say when it comes to community," Bialecki said. "As Community Chair, I would like it to be more apparent what we do, what we do right and that we do a lot of good work. In this role, we can show that TAS can make a real difference on campus."
As the new executive board begins its year-long term, TAS looks ahead to strengthening its presence within the USC athletic community and continuing to uplift the voices of student-athletes across all programs. For more updates on TAS, follow along on Instagram @Trojan_Tas.
