
Jacqueline Duarte Named Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Honoree

Duarte and the Women of Troy compete at NCAA West Regionals on Friday, Nov. 14
LOS ANGELES – The Big Ten conference announced 2025 Cross Country Sportsmanship Honorees on Wednesday afternoon. Redshirt senior Jacqueline Duarte was named as the representative for the Women of Troy in her final season on the USC cross country team.
Sportsmanship honorees are individuals who have set themselves apart through hard work, sportsmanship and honorable behavior. The nominee holds good academic standing and demonstrates good citizenship outside of cross country.
In her final season, Duarte broke her 6K personal record twice and achieved a highest finish of third place in the regular season. At the UC Riverside Invitational, Duarte broke the 22-minute mark for a new personal-best time of 21:51.3. Two weeks later, she broke this time on the same course coming in at 21:36.5 at the Highlander Invitational.
Duarte graduated with her undergraduate degree in Spring 2025 and is now pursuing a graduate degree in Public Relations and Advertising. In addition to athletics and academics, Duarte also started the Los Angeles chapter of Run Your City with her teammates to help kids enjoy track and field in a fun and free environment.
