
USC Cross Country Travels North for NCAA West Regionals

The Trojans will send five runners to compete in the 6K
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The USC cross country team will embark on more postseason racing with the NCAA West Regionals on Friday at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course. The Women of Troy are expected to compete against over 35 teams in the women's 6K starting at 9 a.m.
Isabella Duarte, Jacqueline Duarte, Sydney Knodel, Haley Spoden and Paige Unger are all expected to return to the course following their appearance at Big Ten Championships on Oct. 31 where they placed 18th.
At last year's West Regional Championships, the Trojans came in 33rd place at the Colfax Golf Club in Colfax, Washington. USC's top three finishers at the regional all posted season or career-best 6K times.
SEASON RECAP
The Women of Troy opened the season at the Pepperdine Waves Invite, with all runners placing in the top 30. At the UC Riverside Invitational, the Trojans recorded personal bests across the board, followed by a seventh-place team showing at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite. At the Highlander Invitational, Sydney Knodel made her debut by leading USC with a 26th-place finish in 21:10.6, while Jacqueline Duarte earned a personal best of 21:36.5.
The USC women's cross country team capped off its 2025 season with a second-place finish at the John Elders Titan Invite, marking its best team performance under new coach Brenda Martinez. Senior Sydney Knodel led the Trojans with a runner-up finish, followed closely by Jacqueline Duarte in third. Haley Spoden (10th), Isabella Duarte (17th) and Lucia Rabolli (31st) rounded out the scoring to secure the program's best team finish since 2023.
