USC Men’s Tennis Earns Two All-Conference Honors
April 24, 2025 | Men's Tennis
ROSEMONT, Ill. – USC men's tennis' Peter Makk (Budapest, Hungary) was selected as a unanimous All-Big Ten First Team Member. Freshman Nathan Trouve (Grenoble, France) earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team, and senior Karl Lee (Sacramento, Calif.) was the Trojans' sportsmanship team honoree, the conference announced on Thursday, Apr. 24.
USC's Makk is one of two players selected unanimously on the All-Big Ten First Team after ending the regular season as the No. 17 player in the rankings with a 12-4 overall record and a 7-2 Big Ten record.
This is Makk's second All-Conference honor; he was selected as a member of the All-Pac-12 First Team in 2023.
The senior has had a dominant season. He posted a 7-2 Big Ten record from the No. 1 court in singles and an 8-3 record in doubles alongside graduate student Tristan Bradley. Makk earned two Player of the Week nods this season and accumulated nine ranked wins (5-2 against ranked opponents in conference play).
In his first season for the Trojans, Trouve ended his regular season 9-9 in dual matches and 4-6 in the Big Ten. The freshman primarily played from the No. 2 position for the Trojans and picked up two out-of-conference ranked wins. Trouve was a one-time freshman of the week honoree from the Big Ten.
During the nomination process, each team was given the opportunity to select one player who embodies a core value of sportsmanship. For USC, that player was Lee. Lee ended his regular season with an 18-7 overall and 10-2 Big Ten record.
The Trojans (14-9, 8-5 Big Ten) will compete in their first Big Ten Conference Tournament starting tomorrow. They will take on the No. 3-seeded Michigan State Spartans (15-8, 10-3 Big Ten). That match will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 25, in Columbus, Ohio.
