
USC Men’s Tennis Sweeps Through First Round of NCAAs

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – USC men's tennis (15-10) made a statement in the NCAA first round with a sweep over Arizona State (12-12), 4-0, on Saturday, May 3 at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center.
The Trojans rolled through both doubles and singles, going a combined 6-0 in matches. USC started their route of the Sun Devils with two straight doubles victories. Senior Peter Makk and graduate student Tristan Bradley highlighted the doubles point as they took down ASU's No. 71-ranked doubles pairing 6-4 on court one. Freshmen Connor Church and Nathan Trouve was the other doubles team to win as they won on court three 6-1.
In singles play, USC was able to muster three wins, with all three being two-setters. No. 88-ranked Trouve won his match in succession 6-3, 6-4. Following him was freshman Matteo Morazzi. Morazzi appeared on court No. 6 and made quick work of his opponent 6-3, 6-1.
Senior Karl Lee clinched his third match of the season (UCLA & Northwestern), as he won on court No. 4, 6-3, 6-3. The senior has won five of his last six and is 19-8 on the season.
USC will wait to see who it faces next as it will take on the victor of the San Diego and UC Irvine matchup at noon tomorrow (Sunday, May 4) at the Hogan Tennis Center.
