USC Men's Golf Heads to William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in New Mexico
September 17, 2025 | Men's Golf
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The USC men's golf team heads to New Mexico on Friday as the Trojans tee it up at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate at the UNM Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M. The three-round event will feature a 17-team field and will run Sept. 19-20.
Â
"We need to forget about last week and focus on a different golf course, different conditions, and a different field," said Head Coach Mark Hankins. "Our first event was great preparation for this week, and we are looking forward to working to be in contention on the final day."
Â
The Trojans opened their 2025-26 season hosting the Whirlwind Invitational in Chandler, Ariz. USC won the season-opening tournament, posting a 52-under-par 812 to outpace the 12-team field. The 52-under finish was the second-best tournament score in program history. Antonio Safa made history, winning the individual title and setting a new USC record with a 17-under-par 199. USC had four of the Top 5 individual finishers at the tournament, with Jaden Dumdumaya and Jack Buchanan tying for second and Luke Stock finishing tied for fifth.

HEAR FROM THE LINEUP:
Â
Junior Nicolas Dominguez: "The familiarity with the course after playing there last year is helpful. I have been trying to help my teammates be prepared as much as I can, as well. During qualifying, I was just trying to keep it going from last week and enjoy it out there."
Â
Sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya: "We have some good momentum from last week, and everyone is in high spirits and playing great right now. I feel like we are in the right place."
Â
Freshman Raghav Gulati: "I'm coming off a good round of qualifying, so feeling good for this tournament. I just have to stick to my routine and remain focused."
Â
Senior Antonio Safa: "I think we just have to keep staying relaxed out there and as a team keep doing what we are doing; preparing and staying focused. We had some intense practice and great rounds of qualifying in order for us to be well-prepared for this tournament."
Â
Sophomore Jack Buchanan: "It was the right way to start the season, but around a tougher golf course, we need to play even better. We just have to mentally prepare to play a beast of a golf course compared to last week."
Â
Redshirt Senior Luke Stock: "We just need to keep the positive vibes and keep our heads down and get to work. The elevation will be a factor to get used to. Just keep it in the fairway and take it one shot at a time."
