
No. 17 USC Women's Volleyball Takes Down Ohio State In Three Sets

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The No. 17 USC women's volleyball team (10-2, 1-1 Big Ten) had a standout performance in Columbus, Ohio, as they took down the Ohio State Buckeyes in three sets (25-23, 25-22, 25-15).

- London Wijay led the Trojans tonight as she finished with a season-high 18 kills. With those 18 kills, she only had three errors on 40 attempts, allowing her to hit at a .375 clip. She also tallied six digs.
- Reese Messer had her sixth double-double of the season against the Buckeyes. She finished the match with 34 assists and 12 digs. She also led the team in blocks with three.
- Abigail Mullen contributed 11 kills against the Buckeyes. She also led the team in aces with five, which is tied for her career high.
- Gala Trubint led the back row defense for the Trojans as she grabbed 16 digs.
- For Ohio State, Reese Wuebker and Hannah Jones were the biggest contributors. Both Buckeyes finished the night with eight kills apiece.
- The Buckeyes battled with the Trojans during this first set as the two teams exchanged the lead five times. London Wijay's nine kills in the first set allowed USC to push past Ohio State with a score of 25-23.
- Abigail Mullen started the second set with a seven-point service run to gain the lead over the Buckeyes. Ohio State battled back to tie the set five times, but that didn't stop the Trojans. USC won the second set 25-22.
- USC came out strong in the final set, gaining an 11-point lead at one point during this set. This team effort caused the Women of Troy to come out with the 25-15 win.
- The Women of Troy will return to Los Angeles for another weekend of Big Ten play inside the Galen Center. USC will first play Indiana on Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m.
- USC is now 6-2 in the series against Ohio State. With this win, the Trojans are now on a two-match winning streak over the Buckeyes.
- With this win, Head Coach Brad Keller is now just five wins away from his 100th career win. Coach Keller is in his sixth season with the Trojans.
- This is USC's fifth three-set win this season.
