Trojans debut revamped roster with four new additions.
LOS ANGELES – No. 19 USC men's tennis team opens its spring campaign with momentum and high expectations, welcoming fans back to David X. Marks Tennis Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 11 for an action-packed day.
Troy will face San Diego State at 10 a.m. before taking on UC San Diego in the afternoon at 4 p.m. PT. In between the two matches, San Diego State and UCSD will play a neutral site match at 1 p.m.
Entering the spring under the direction of seventh-year head coach Brett Masi, USC returns to action with a blend of experience and new energy. Masi, who has guided the program through steady national relevance, leads a roster poised to make another push in one of the country's most competitive collegiate tennis landscapes.
Adding to that optimism are four new spring additions, Andrin Casanova, Branko Djuric, Sklar Phillips and Max Exsted, who bolster the Trojans depth across both singles and doubles play. The newcomers join a core group that has already proven it can compete at a high level, giving USC increased flexibility in its lineup and additional options as the season unfolds.
The home opener marks the first opportunity for the Trojans to showcase their revamped roster in front of a home crowd and set the tone for the spring. With a No. 19 preseason ranking, new faces and veteran leadership on the sideline, USC will look to make an early statement as it begins its second season in the Big Ten Conference.
LAST SEASON
In 2025, Masi led the Trojans to a NCAA Super Regional appearance, after pulling the upset on the No. 6-seed San Diego in the NCAA Second Round. In USC's inaugural year in the Big Ten Conference, the Trojans finished tied for fourth in the conference with a conference record of 8-5 and an overall record of 16-11. Senior Peter Makk was the first player named to the All-Big Ten First Team, as he was picked unanimously and earned ITA All-American status.
