USC Track and Field Set to Open Season at Spokane Showcase

The reigning national champion men's team looks to build momentum toward defending their title
SPOKANE, Wash. – The USC track and field team returns to the indoor track on Friday at the Spokane Sports Showcase to begin the road to defending the men's indoor national title.
The Spokane Sports Showcase is a one-day collegiate invite-only event including programs from UCLA, Eastern Washington, Cal, Sacramento State, Fresno State, Idaho, Gonzaga and Santa Clara.
Eleven Trojans are expected to make their debut for USC this weekend. Athletes expected to compete on the men's side include Elias Gerald, Jackson Norris, Cordial Vann, Kaden Garland, Chase McCallum, Garrett Kaalund, Jaelen Knox, Nickolas Miller, Ethan Exilhomme, William Jones, Jack Stadlman, Wiaan Martin, Emmett Mack, JC Stevenson and Jacob Andrews.
On the women's side, Ahnyx Bush, Jada Foreman, Kailyn Head, Avery Lewis, Ashley Erasmus, Oluwatosin Awoleye, Asjah Atkinson, Nonah Waldron, Anisa Bowen-Fontenot, Olivia Pace, Dajaz DeFrand, Mia Brahe-Pedersen, Rachael Uvieghara, Brianna Selby, Christine M. Mallard, Madison Whyte, Takiya Cenci and Joelle Trepagnier are all expected to compete.
LAST SEASON
At the NCAA Indoor Championships, the men's team won the national title for the first time since the 1972 season, winning as a team with no event champions. The women's team placed third for the first time since their second-place finish in 2019. Dajaz DeFrand led the women, winning the women's 60m dash title with a PR and facility-record time of 7.09.
Indoor All-Americans from the 2025 season returning for the 2026 season include Dajaz DeFrand, Elias Gerald, William Jones, Garrett Kaalund, Christine M. Mallard, JC Stevenson, Madison Whyte, Jacob Andrews and Nonah Waldron.
At the Big Ten Indoor Championships, the men placed second while the women's team came in third. Returners Dajaz DeFrand (60m), JC Stevenson (60m) and William Jones (400m) each won the Big Ten title for their respective events.
