Three USC Women's Volleyball Athletes to Participate in USAV Women's National Team Collegiate Training
February 17, 2026 | Women's Volleyball
Reese Messer, Mia Tvrdy, and London Wijay are among 62 collegiate athletes who will participate in the three-day training program
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Three USC women's volleyball athletes—sophomore setter Reese Messer (Olathe, Kan./Saint James Academy), junior middle blocker Mia Tvrdy (La Vista, Neb./Papillion-La Vista HS), and redshirt junior outside hitter London Wijay (Porter Ranch, Calif./Bishop Alemany HS)—will travel to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center for the USA Volleyball Women's National Team Collegiate Training program, the USAV announced on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The trio of Trojans will be part of a roster of 62 collegiate athletes representing 20 USA Volleyball regions set to train at the national training center this weekend (Feb. 19-22). Participants come from 29 NCAA Division I institutions and will take part in what serves as a high-level development opportunity that allows athletes to train and compete in a national team environment with the benefit of feedback and assessment from the U.S. Women's National Team staff.
USAV women's national team head coach Erik Sullivan will lead the training alongside assistant coach Brandon Taliaferro. The staff also includes Women's National Team strength coach Shannon Boone, athletic trainer Kara Kessans, and performance analyst Nate Ngo.
"The WNTCT represents an exciting step forward for USA Volleyball, uniting the top athletes across age groups in one competitive setting," Sullivan said. "We're fired up to host this evaluation at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs as it allows us to assess talent, culture, and potential at the highest level."
In addition to on-court training, athletes will participate in professional volleyball presentations from Athletes Unlimited, Major League Volleyball, and League One Volleyball, which will provide insight into professional pathways available following collegiate careers.

Last fall, USC finished the regular season tied for third in the Big Ten. The Trojans were 25-7 overall with a 15-5 record in the Big Ten and were awarded one of 33 at-large berths—and a hosting bid—into the 2025 NCAA tournament. USC made its fourth straight appearance in the tourney under head coach Brad Keller (41st all-time) and moved into the second round for the fourth consecutive year with a 3-0 sweep of Princeton. The Women of Troy were eliminated from postseason play in a hard-fought five-set loss to Cal Poly in the second round.
