USC's Max Exsted Earns Third Big Ten Men's Tennis Freshman of the Week Honor

ROSEMONT, Ill. - USC freshman Max Exsted has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the third time this season after an unblemished weekend in the Trojans' rivalry victory over No. 22 UCLA. The award marks the third of Exsted's career at USC, having just joined the Trojans in January Â
Exsted went 2-0 in USC's 4-3 win against UCLA, capturing both his doubles and singles matches to help lift the Trojans in a tightly contested matchup.
In doubles action, Exsted competed at the No. 3 position alongside Nathan Trouve. The pair secured a 6-4 win over Quan/Reinhard to help USC claim the doubles point and seize early momentum in the match.
In singles play, Exsted delivered in a pivotal moment. Competing on court four, the freshman earned USC's third point of the day with a 6-3, 7-6(3) victory over Andy Nguyen, putting the Trojans in position to clinch the 4-3 decision.
Exsted is now riding a four-match win streak in singles competition this spring, continuing to make a strong impact in his debut collegiate campaign.
The Minnesota native is set to compete alongside his teammates at the PAC Coast Doubles tournament in La Jolla, Calif. this weekend.Â
