This is the seventh-straight season USC will send multiple players to the prestigious event.
LOS ANGELES — For the seventh season in a row, multiple members of the No. 2 USC women's golf team have been selected to participate in the Augusta National Women's Amateur at one of the most famous courses in golf. Sophomore Jasmine Koo, sophomore Elise Lee, senior Catherine Park and junior Bailey Shoemaker will play in the prestigious event from April 1-4.
The first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women's Amateur will be broadcasted on Golf Channel from Champions Retreat Golf Club, starting at 10:30 a.m. PT. For the final round, NBC Sports will broadcast three hours of live final-round coverage of the event at Augusta National, starting at 9 a.m. PT. Additionally, Golf Channel's "Live From the Masters" show begins Friday, April 3 at Augusta National to provide coverage of the Augusta National Women's Amateur. All pertinent information can be found on the women's golf team's schedule page on usctrojans.com.
This year's field of 72 amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. There will be a cut after 36 holes, advancing the leading 30 players and ties to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided by a sudden-death playoff.
The top 20 players in the current World Amateur Golf Ranking and 48 of the top 50 overall players are in this year's field. Players representing 23 different countries and territories from all six continents are represented in this year's field as well. All four Trojans will be making repeat appearances at this year's competition.
Making her fourth appearance, Shoemaker will look to improve upon her runner-up finish at the 2024 tournament. Despite missing the fall with an arm injury, Shoemaker has finished in the top 15 in all five tournaments this season, including a runner-up finish at USC's GameAbove Invitational.
Catherine Park is making her third appearance in the tournament. The senior made the final round and fired a 67 that featured four birdies and two eagles. After winning the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic, Park and her teammate Jasmine Koo are tied for second in USC program history with six career wins. The Irvine, Calif. native leads the team with a 70.53 stroke average and 15 rounds in the 60s.
Making her third career appearance, Jasmine Koo will look to make the final round in three consecutive seasons. The sophomore has six career collegiate wins, most recently at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational this past March. She has seven top-25 finishes and four top-10 finishes this season.
Returning to the Augusta National Women's Amateur after making her debut last year, Elise Lee will look to make the final round in back-to-back seasons. Lee has eight top-25 finishes and five top-10 finishes as a Trojan, with her best result being a fourth-place finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate this past September.
If she maintains her amateur status, the Augusta National Women's Amateur Champion will receive an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women's Amateurs, the U.S. Women's Open, the AIG Women's Open, the Chevron Championship, the Evian Championship and any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.
