Trojans add post presence with the addition of Florida State transfer Davis.
LOS ANGELES — USC women's basketball has added size and production to its frontcourt with the signing of 6-6 center Pania Davis, head coach Lindsay Gottlieb announced today. A native of Perth, Western Australia, Davis joins the Trojans after competing at Florida State and New Mexico Junior College.
Davis brings a strong defensive presence and efficient interior scoring to USC after a standout season with the Seminoles. She appeared in all 31 games with 28 starts, averaging 7.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while leading Florida State with 31 blocks.
"Pania will be such a dynamic new part of our frontcourt," said Gottlieb of Davis. "Her length, athleticism, mobility and skill all fit not only a need for us, but our style of play. In addition to her abilities, she brings an experience, maturity and mindset that will help elevate us. What an incredible person, I know our Trojan fans will love cheering for her in Galen!"
Davis delivered several impactful performances during her first season at Florida State, including a career-high 19 points on seven made field goals to go along with nine rebounds against Florida. Davis also pulled down 14 rebounds while adding four assists and four steals against South Carolina State and posted 14 points and eight boards in the FSU home opener against Florida A&M. In postseason play, she recorded eight points on 3-of-6 shooting against Georgia Tech in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

As a sophomore, she earned WBCA Honorable Mention All-American honors, was named WJCAC Player of the Year and collected NJCAA First Team All-American recognition. She also earned All-Region V, WJCAC All-Conference and Region V All-Tournament honors.
