The Women of Troy lost in a 3-2 battle with the Longhorns.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – No. 5 USC Beach Volleyball (28-11) fell in the MPSF Championship semifinal to No. 3 Texas at Spiker Beach in Huntington Beach on Friday. The Women of Troy won the first two points on the dual, but ultimately lost 2-3 to the Longhorns.

In the 4s, USC's Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok put a point on the board with a straight-set victory over Texas's Chloe Charles and Savannah Thomas, taking the sets 21-15, 21-18.

The 2s saw Ashley Pater and Kennedy Coakley add another point for the Women of Troy by defeating Anna Pavelkova and Kacka Pavelkova in straight sets, 21-17, 21-15. However, Texas responded as its No. 1 pair, Brecht Piersma and Katie Hashman, claimed the win over Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood, 21-18, 21-17.

In the 5s, Madison Goellner and Kaileigh Truslow engaged in a three-set battle with Texas's Macey Butler and Karin Zolnercikova. The match went the distance, but Texas secured the win with a 21-16, 17-21, 15-13 scoreline.

It all came down to the third flight. Despite their best efforts, Macy Bolyard and Bella Satterwhite fell to Emma Grace Robertson and Lily Davis in another three-set match. The Longhorns clinched it with a 22-24, 21-18, 15-7 result, earning their spot in the MPSF Championship final.
