LOS ANGELES — The USC Men's Golf Team has added UTSA transfer Joshua Hong to its 2026-27 roster, the program announced Tuesday, June 23.
Hong is the second incoming transfer USC is expected to have in 2026-27, joining Pacific transfer Deitrek Gill, who signed on June 19. He comes to USC after playing as a freshman for UTSA last season, where he set the program record with a 71.73 stroke average in 33 rounds of play.
"We are excited to add Joshua, who's coming off an amazing freshman season by breaking the UTSA scoring average record and recording his first individual collegiate title," Head Coach Mark Hankins said. "He's passionate about golf and he has a tremendous work ethic and upside. He's a very consistent player who will thrive in our program at USC."
At UTSA, Hong had eight top-25 finishes and five top-10 finishes — both of which led the Roadrunners. He won his first collegiate event at the Military City Collegiate, then fired a collegiate-best 13-under 203 — including tying the school record with a 64 in the first round— at the Gold Nugget Invitational the following week. Following those tournaments, he was named the American Conference Golfer of the Week. Later in the season, he tied for 21st at the American Conference Championships, which was the second-best finish amongst freshmen.
A native of Querétaro, Mexico, Hong is a dual citizen of Mexico and South Korea. He competed for the Mexican national team from 2023-26. He has seven titles combined from the junior and amateur circuits. He placed 13th at the 2025 Toyota Junior World Cup and competed in the Junior Americas Cup for three consecutive years.
Hong will join a Trojans squad that returns four players from a team that won four tournaments and made the program's first NCAA Championship appearance since 2019.
