USC Women's Volleyball's Faumuina and Mullen Tabbed for All-Big Ten Preseason Team Honors

The Women of Troy were picked to finish seventh in a poll of the Big Ten’s head coaches
ROSEMONT, Ill. – USC women's volleyball senior outside hitter Adonia Faumuina (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly HS) and sophomore opposite hitter Abigail Mullen(Kansas City, Mo./Liberty HS) were named to the All-Big Ten Preseason Team on Thursday, July 30.
The Women of Troy were picked to finish seventh in the conference's preseason poll of head coaches. Defending league champion Nebraska was unanimously selected to win conference title.
Last fall, Mullen was second on the team in kills (2.87 kps) and was third in the Big Ten for service aces with 52 on the season (0.45 saps). She averaged 3.78 points per set as a freshman and totaled 99 blocks and 245 digs. Mullen was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and was a two-time choice for the league's Freshman of the Week award.
Faumuina ranked third on the team in kills (2.52 kps) and was fourth for points (2.88 pps). She was also a Big Ten preseason all-conference team choice as a junior in 2025 and was named to the league's All-Academic Team last fall.
In 2025, USC finished the regular season tied for third in the Big Ten. The Trojans were 25-7 overall with a 15-5 record in the league and were awarded one of 33 at-large berths—and a hosting bid—into the 2025 NCAA tournament. USC made its fourth straight appearance in the tourney under head coach Brad Keller (41st all-time) and moved into the second round for the fourth consecutive year with a 3-0 sweep of Princeton. The Women of Troy were eliminated from postseason play in a hard-fought five-set loss to Cal Poly in the second round.
The Trojans began fall practices on July 30 and will open the 2026 season at the State Farm Volleyball Showcase in Sioux Falls, S.D. USC takes on Arizona State in its season opener on Aug. 29 at the Sanford Pentagon and will be shown live on FS1. The Women of Troy also face Creighton (Aug. 30) in a match that will be carried by the Big Ten Network. USC will play a pair of exhibition matches before the season officially begins and heads to Irvine, Calif., to take on UC Irvine on Aug. 15 before it hosts Loyola Marymount at Galen Center on Aug. 19.
