McKenzie Forbes Joins USC Women's Basketball Staff as Summer Player Development Assistant

LOS ANGELES – Former USC standout McKenzie Forbes has rejoined the Women of Troy this summer as a player development assistant, returning to her alma mater to help mentor the next generation of Trojans before continuing her professional basketball career in France.
"It's been incredible to have Kenzie back with the program in an official capacity this summer as a player development assistant," said USC head coach Lindsay Gottlieb. "Kenzie has always been wise beyond her years in terms of her knowledge of the game, leadership and ability to think and teach the game. There is so much basketball left for her to be played as a pro, but to have her around our team this summer as she prepares to go overseas has been invaluable. She's a resource for our players, she's an extension of our staff, and she's simply a natural winner who has helped us in emphasizing championship habits this summer."
Forbes launched her professional career after being selected No. 28 overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She most recently competed in Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball before signing to play professionally in France.
One of the nation's top transfers in 2023-24, Forbes earned All-Pac-12 honors and was named the Pac-12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player after helping lead USC to its first conference tournament title since 2014 and an NCAA Elite Eight appearance. She started all 35 games for the Trojans, averaging 14.3 points, 3.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game.
Prior to USC, Forbes starred at Harvard, where she was a team captain and Second Team All-Ivy League selection after averaging more than 14 points per game during her career. She began her collegiate career at Cal, earning All-Pac-12 Freshman Honorable Mention honors.
