Women of Troy Team Up With Best Friends Animal Society for National Dog Day

Trojans welcome adoptable dogs to Galen Center in hopes of finding them forever homes.
LOS ANGELES — USC women's basketball received a heartwarming surprise this week as Best Friends Animal Society of Los Angeles brought Ruby and Maria, two dogs currently available for adoption, to practice in celebration of National Dog Day on August 26.
Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles works alongside local shelters, rescue organizations and community members to save the lives of dogs and cats. Its West Los Angeles adoption center offers pet adoptions, foster programs and volunteer opportunities while connecting animals in need with loving homes. Each adoption also creates space for another homeless pet to receive care and begin its own search for a family.
After practice, the Women of Troy traded basketballs for belly rubs, spending time with Ruby and Maria while learning more about their personalities and stories. Beyond providing a memorable moment for the team, the visit allowed USC to introduce the pair to potential adopters throughout the Los Angeles community.
