USC and Notre Dame to Renew Rivalry in Four-Game Series

LOS ANGELES—USC and Notre Dame will renew their storied rivalry and compete once again for the Jeweled Shillelagh beginning in 2030 with a four-game series.
The Trojans and the Fighting Irish will reignite college football's greatest intersectional rivalry when they meet at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Week 1 of the 2030 season. The series will then shift to Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind. in Week 1 of the 2031 season.
Matchups in 2032 and 2033 will also be played as part of the series. Official dates for those games will be announced at a later time, but each contest will take place during Weeks 1-3 of the respective season.
"USC's historic rivalry with Notre Dame holds a special place in the history of college football, and we are happy to resume a series that means so much to the entire Trojan Family," said Charles Griffin Cale Director of Athletics Jen Cohen. "It remains important for us to play this game early in the season, as it allows us to schedule competitively with our Big Ten peers and takes into account the health and best interests of our student-athletes and program. We are excited for our fans, and we look forward to more memorable matchups and unforgettable games between the Trojans and the Irish."
USC owns a 37-53-5 all-time record against Notre Dame, excluding the Trojans' 2005 victory, which was later vacated due to NCAA sanctions (original record: 38-53-5).
