Three USC Women’s Golf Players Make Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch List
September 09, 2026 | Women's Golf
Kylie Chong, Jasmine Koo and Bailey Shoemaker earned early recognition from the league.
ROSEMONT, Ill. — Kylie Chong, Jasmine Koo and Bailey Shoemaker of the No. 2 USC women's golf team were selected to the Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch list, as announced by the conference Wednesday.
The Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch list was selected by Big Ten coaches. A maximum of three players per team could make the list.
Chong, Koo and Shoemaker were All-American and First Team All-Big Ten selections from last year's national runner-up team. All three were instrumental in helping USC sweep the Big Ten titles for the first time in program history last season. During the conference championships, Koo won the 2026 Big Ten individual title, while Shoemaker was the Big Ten runner-up and Chong helped the Trojans become the only Big Ten team with all five players in the top 25.
Earlier this fall, Koo and Shoemaker were named to the ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List, which goes to the best player in women's college golf. Koo is coming off a season in which she became USC's winningest player with eight career titles in just her sophomore season. She was the Trojans' second-best finisher at the NCAA Championships, trailing only Catherine Park, who graduated this past spring.
Shoemaker, on the other hand, is coming off her best collegiate season despite missing the entirety of the fall season due to a near-career-ending injury. She placed in the top 25 in all nine tournaments in which she played, plus she had six consecutive top-10 finishes midway through the spring. She tied for 23rd at the NCAA Championships, giving USC three top-25 finishers.
Rounding out the award winners, Chong is coming off a breakout season in which she won her first two career titles, including USC's inaugural GameAbove Invitational for her first outright collegiate win. Chong was instrumental in USC's run to the NCAA match play championship, sealing the quarterfinal win over Duke and winning the Trojans' lone match against Stanford in the title match.
