THIS SEASON: A versatile swimmer especially strong in the fly, 2012 senior co-captain Jack Ostler is a solid dual-meet contributor for the Trojans, one of its top student-athletes, and a team leader.
2011: Ostler swam the 50y free and 100y and 200y fly (in exhibitions) at the 2011 Pac-10s and provided depth in those events throughout the season for the Trojans. He lowered his PR in the 100y fly (48.93) and 50y free (21.07) during the year ... At season[apos]s end, he earned his second straight Pac-10 All-Academic first team honor.
2010: Ostler, as a 2010 sophomore, competed at the Pac-10 Championships, taking 16th in both the 100y (50.15) and 200y fly (1:52.94) ... He earned 2010 Pac-10 All-Academic first team notice with a 3.52 GPA.
2009: Ostler competed in the free and fly events for USC as a 2009 freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ostler, a two-time prep All-American, attended St. Ignatius Prep in San Francisco, where he was a 2007 CIF Central Coast champion in the 100y fly ... He was also a three-year water polo player who was All-Section as a sophomore ... Was a junior national champion who was part of an age group national record in the 200y medley relay ... Earned all A[apos]s in high school.

PERSONAL: He was born on Sept. 16, 1990 ... Majoring in economics and earth science.
