A 2024 graduate of Boise High... Two-time Gatorade Idaho State Player of the Year... Set the school single-season scoring (551 points) and rebounding (354 rebounds) records in 2022-23 as a junior... Finished her prep career with 1,432 points, 970 rebounds, 214 steals and 180 assists...Averaged 21.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game as a senior... Ranked as the nation's No. 23 recruit in the Class of 2024 by espnW... 2024 McDonald's All-American — only the second Idahoan girl in history to be selected... PERSONAL
Avery Rose Howell was born June 8, 2006 in Boise, Idaho.... The daughter of Rosie and Brian Howell... Has one brother, Cooper, who played collegiate basketball at Lewis-Clark State College... Her mother, Rosie, also played basketball at Lewis-Clark... Enjoys hanging out with friends, being outside or watching a good show in her free time... Lists Kobe Bryant as her biggest sports hero... Hopes to travel to the Virgin Islands, Rome and the Bahamas... Has always wanted to get a puppy... In high school, served as a counselor at youth summer basketball camps... Also volunteered with Boise's parent/daughter clinic and helped raise money for breast cancer research with Boise's Pink Zone Game... Aims to win a national championship at USC, compete in the Olympics and play in the WNBA... Majoring in communication.
